Founded in January 2022 by Denny Kidd (DK) amidst profound personal tragedy, SNS began as DK's personal outlet for healing. While DK had already survived a cancer diagnosis - DK was about to face his biggest test of survival yet. On January 8, 2026 - DK was part of a small search team that would tragically discover his missing father, who had succumbed to the elements after more than 14 hours in a snow-covered wooded area. Accompanying him was his blind family dog, who survived and remained by his side until help arrived. Witnessing this heart-wrenching moment as his father was placed in a body bag left DK grappling with disbelief and confusion. It marked a profound shift in him, igniting a realization that life is unpredictable and fleeting.

Just a week later, DK faced another devastating loss when his mother unexpectedly passed away in his brother's living room. Present at her side, DK and his brother listened as her vital signs faded, feeling helpless as her warm body grew cold. Overwhelmed with grief and confusion, DK returned home and fell into a deep emotional shutdown. During this time, he waged an internal battle against despair, initially turning to alcohol to escape his pain. Yet, instead of providing solace, it intensified his turmoil.

Recognizing this unhealthy path, DK abandoned self-medication in favor of creativity, turning to music at Kidd Kave Music as a therapeutic outlet. Writing became his refuge, allowing him to channel his thoughts and emotions into his work. He began performing solo shows and lending his skills as a session guitarist, even opening for high-profile artists. As his journey unfolded, his solo project evolved into a powerful five-piece act known as Sleeping in Silence, captivating fans with a distinctive sound that blends metalcore, alternative metal, nu-metal, and hip-hop elements. The music created is authentic and purposeful, resonating deeply with those who connect with it.
In 2024 - Sleeping in Silence appeared onstage in the comedy/b-horror theatrical film ‘Daylight to Dark’  (Mts Pictures) starring actress/singer Tuesday Knight (A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4: The Dream Master). Knight’s title track ‘Daylight to Dark’ can be heard at the film’s ending credits - the track was produced and recorded by DK (Kidd Kave Music) and features SNS’s Siaren on piano. Knight and Kidd collaborated and recorded multiple new versions of her Freddy Krueger inspired hit song ‘Nightmare’. One particular version of the track is set to release in collaboration with Sleeping in Silence sometime in 2026.

In mid 2025, with plans to expand Sleeping in Silence - SNS would undergo a full line-up change for their live-show members (leaving creator DK and rhythm guitarist Johnny Nobody). This definitive moment would allow DK to fully pursue and return to the core foundation of musical art and honesty that the band birthed from. DK would then make the decision to add vocalist, DJ and pianist Siaren. 

In August 2025, DK and Siaren hit the studio to record the debut Sleeping in Silence (ep) album 'Darkside Collective'. On August 21, 2025 - Sleeping in Silence would release a demo called “Still Alive!” that would be featured in the cult-following theatrical horror movie ‘OnlyFangs’ (A & P Productions) and on the film’s official soundtrack. A music video for ‘Still Alive!’ (demo) would debut the very same day on the official Kings of Horror YouTube page (1.3 million subscribers). The music video was produced by DK and Siaren but would re-release on April 19, 2026 (remastered by DK and Siaren’s Snuff13m Productions). On this remastered version, the track’s title was changed to ‘Still Alive’ rather than ‘Still Alive!’. 

In October 2025, Sleeping in Silence would collaborate with Judge & Jury Records (producers Howard Benson and Neil Sanderson of Three Days Grace), producer Joey Sturgis and Butcher Babies. Sleeping in Silence can be heard on the track ‘Sincerity (The War You Started)’ from the Butcher Babies album (ep) ‘Insincerity’. The band would also appear in the official music video. 

On April 11, 2026 - SNS released their track ‘See in the Dark’ (Kidd Kave Music) along with an official music video (Snuff13m Productions). 

“We write and perform from places that can’t be scripted — the music is real, raw and necessary,” says founder DK. “The core foundation of Sleeping in Silence was built on survival...by confronting pain, emotion and turning it into art... music with a purpose." SNS's authentic sound and unfilteredness continues to build it's awareness and following.
